This painting reminded me of the party scene at Gatsby's house. Everyone one sort of blends into the mob of the party, they are there as a group. Also this painting reminded me of the scene where Nick first comes to the party and is overwhelmed by the amount of people and he meets Gatsby. The man on the left reminded me of Gatsby because he is standing alone detached from the party. He looks like he is thinking about something else and looking for someone in the mob of the party. The painting matches up well with the quote because to me it illustrates the image of the lavish party scenes at Gatsbys.
